Managing Remediation Work with Jira in Secfix

Why connect Jira?

Remediation tasks often start with a failing security check. Without integration, teams need to switch tools, copy information, and track progress separately. With Secfix + Jira:

  • Issues are captured where they occur,

  • Engineers get all the context they need,

  • Progress stays visible in both tools.

Creating Jira tasks from checks

When an automated check fails, you can create a Jira task directly in Secfix.

  • Pre-filled title and description: Secfix automatically includes the check name, failure details, and affected resources.

  • Rich context: No need to retype or summarize. Engineers see exactly what went wrong.


👉 To create a new task:

  1. Open the failing check.

  2. Click Add Jira task → Create new task.

  3. Review the pre-filled details and save.

Security Labels

We automatically pull in tickets tagged with security by default. You can also add your own custom labels. For example, sec-issue, vulnerability, or anything that fits your team's process.

Linking existing Jira tasks

Sometimes remediation work is already tracked in Jira. In that case, you can simply link the task.

  • Keyword search: Find Jira issues by title.

  • Direct URL: Paste the link to the existing Jira task.

👉 To link an existing task:

  1. Open the failing check.

  2. Click Add Jira task → Link existing Jira task.

  3. Select or paste the task.

Tracking remediation status

Once linked, all Jira tasks appear directly on the check in Secfix. You’ll see:

  • Task title,

  • Assignee,

  • Current status (To do, In progress, Done).

This makes it easy to track remediation without leaving Secfix.

Commenting directly in Secfix

You can now communicate with your teammates directly in Secfix without switching to Jira!
Each check includes a Comments tab, where you can discuss findings, share updates, and mention teammates using “@”.

All comments stay linked to the related Jira task, so conversations remain in context - whether you're working in Secfix or Jira.
This makes collaboration faster and ensures everyone stays on the same page.

Two-way sync with Jira

Changes made in Jira are reflected instantly in Secfix, including:

  • Task title updates,

  • Reassignments,

  • New comments,

  • Status changes.

This ensures security and engineering teams stay aligned, without double work.
