Enabling a screen lock is a fundamental step in meeting ISO information security compliance requirements. The Secfix Agent checks whether screen lock is configured on employee devices.
β For a device to be marked as compliant, the screen lock timeout must be set to 15 minutes or less.
Below are platform-specific instructions for enabling and configuring screen lock on macOS, Windows, and Linux (Ubuntu).
macOS: Enable Screen Lock
To configure screen lock on macOS:
Open System Preferences > Lock Screen
Start Screen Saver when inactive should be set to 15 minutes or less
Require password after screen saver begins or display is turned off should be set to immediately
Windows: Enable Screen Lock
To enable screen lock on Windows:
Open the Start menu
Go to Control Panel β Appearance and Personalization
Search for Screen Saver and click Change screen saver
In the Screen Saver Settings:
Choose a screen saver
Set the Wait time to 15 minutes or less
Check the box On resume, display logon screen
π‘ On Windows 10 and newer versions, screen lock is managed through the screensaver settings.
Linux (Ubuntu): Enable Screen Lock
To configure screen lock on Ubuntu:
Open the Activities overview and type Privacy & Security
Select Settings β Privacy & Security
Click on Screen Lock
Make sure Automatic Screen Lock is turned on
Choose a time from the Automatic Screen Lock Delay dropdown (15 minutes or less)
