Manually Link/Unlink HR Data

If you have an HRIS (Human Resource Information System) connected, Secfix can automatically match employee records based on email addresses. However, if an email doesn’t match, you may need to manually link or unlink employee records.

You may see a banner at the top of the People page or on the Connections page if some employees’ HR data couldn’t be matched.


Prerequisites

To link HR data, ensure:

  • An HRIS provider is connected under the Connections page.

  • Employee email addresses match between the HRIS and Secfix for automatic linking.


How to Manually Link HR Data to Employees

If HR data doesn’t automatically link, follow these steps:

  1. Open People > Employees from the left-hand navigation menu

  2. If a Review button appears, click it to check unmatched employees.

    The HR data for the employee will appear on the Unlinked tab.

  3. Under the Unlinked tab, find the employee whose data you want to link.

  4. Click the dropdown next to the employee’s name.

  5. Select the correct employee record in Secfix.

Once linked, the employee record will move to the Linked tab.

To unlink HR employee data to employees on Secfix

If you need to remove a linked HR record:

  1. Open People > Employees from the left-hand navigation menu

  2. Find the employee under the Linked tab.

  3. Click the dropdown next to their name.

  4. Select Unlink to to remove the HR data connection.

After unlinking, the employee record will move back to the Unlinked tab.


Troubleshooting

  • I don’t see the “Review” button – Ensure an HRIS is connected under Connections. If it’s connected and the button is still missing, check whether employee email addresses match.

  • Some employees are missing from the list – Only employees with unmatched or linked HR data appear in the lists. Ensure the employee exists in both Secfix and your HRIS.

  • HR data isn’t linking automatically – If email addresses don’t match, manual linking is required.
