In case you encounter issues with the Secfix Agent on your device, exporting and sharing system logs can help our team diagnose and resolve the problem quickly. This article guides you through the steps to export the relevant logs.

How to export Windows 10 & 11 logs

  1. Open Event Viewer

β€’ Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog box.

β€’ Type eventvwr.msc and click OK.

This opens the Event Viewer application.

Windows Run pop-up window showing eventvwr.msc written on the Open field

  2. Navigate to Windows Logs

    • In the left-hand sidebar, go to: Event Viewer (Local) > Windows Logs > Application

    • Click on Application to load all application-related logs.

Event viewer window highlighting Application option under Windows Logs

  3. Filter and Select Relevant Events

    • In the main panel, locate the Source column.

    • Click the Source column header to sort the logs.

    • Look for entries where the Source is launcher (this refers to the Secfix Agent logs).

    • Select all entries with the launcher source.

You can select multiple events simultaneously; there is no need to save each event individually.

  4. Save Selected Logs to a File

    After selecting all relevant entries

    • Right-click on one of the selected logs.

    • Choose Save Selected Events.

    • Save the file in .evtx format to a location you can easily access (e.g., Desktop).

    • Email the exported log file to your Customer Success Manager or send it to [email protected].
